Srilon Travel (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Sri Lanka–focused travel agency helping travellers plan and book tours, experiences, and travel services. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.
Information We Collect
Booking and Enquiry Data
When you request a quote, book a tour, or contact us through our website, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, nationality, travel dates, and any details you share about your trip preferences. If you complete a booking through our online store, we also collect billing and shipping details and payment information needed to process your order. We do not store full payment card details ourselves — these are handled securely by our payment gateway provider.
Account Information
If you create an account on our site, we store the details you provide in your profile, such as your name and contact information. You can view, edit, or delete this information at any time from your account settings.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. You can review the Gravatar privacy policy at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once we approve your comment, your profile picture becomes visible to the public alongside it.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images published on the site.
Contact Forms
If you use a contact or enquiry form, we collect the information you submit so we can respond to your message and follow up about your travel plans.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you can opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These make it easier for you to comment again without re-entering your details, and they last for one year.
Visiting our login page sets a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and disappears once you close your browser.
When you log in, we set additional cookies to save your login details and screen display preferences. Login cookies last two days, and screen option cookies last a year. Choosing “Remember Me” extends your login for two weeks, and logging out removes your login cookies.
Editing or publishing an article saves an extra cookie containing only the post ID — no personal data. This expires after one day.
We also use cookies to support core store functionality, such as remembering items in your cart, applying currency or language preferences, and keeping your session active during checkout.
Embedded Content
Pages on our site may include embedded content, such as videos, images, or maps. This content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website directly, and those third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking, and monitor your interaction with the content — including tracking logged-in users of that service.

If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.
To fulfil your booking, we may share relevant details (such as your name and travel dates) with our local partners in Sri Lanka, including guides, hotels, and tour operators, strictly for the purpose of arranging your trip.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, we retain the comment and its metadata indefinitely, so we can recognise and automatically approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For registered users, we store the personal information in their profile for as long as the account remains active. You can view, edit, or delete your personal information at any time, except your username. Website administrators can also view and edit this information.
We retain booking and enquiry records for as long as needed to provide our services and meet our legal, accounting, or tax obligations.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account or have left comments on this site, you can request an exported copy of the personal data we hold about you, including anything you’ve provided to us. You can also ask us to erase your personal data, except where we’re required to keep it for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

We may check visitor comments through an automated spam detection service. Booking and payment data may also be processed by third-party services located outside your country, including payment processors and booking tools, as part of delivering our services.
